Twitter Slams Richa Chadha’s Pics Used For ‘Galwan’ Row Coverage; Do We Need Bikini Pics To Sell News?

Richa Chadha has been making headlines due to the ‘Galwan’ comment on Twitter. The row has now turned into legal notices and news channels calling out the actress for the same. From Anupam Kher to Akshay Kumar, many actors from the film fraternity have also shared a screenshot of Richa’s now-deleted tweet and slammed her for the same. However, Twitter had it enough when a news channel used Richa’s Bikini pictures for the news coverage.

A Twitter user rightfully called out the channel for exclusively using Richa’s bikini pictures during the news session. Sharing screenshots of the news channel’s coverage, the user wrote the news channel was like, “let’s search Richa Chadha’s pics on Google with a keyword “Richa Chadha in Bikini” and use those pics, We’ll get a lot of views to our ‘News’.”

Many netizens questioned the channel’s ethics for using such pictures and keywords to share the news. While one called it unethical journalism others asked how did the achor and other employee let it happen.

Richa Chadha has tweeted, “Galwan says Hi” as a criticism of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s remarks on taking back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The actress’ tweet referred to the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley where 20 Indian soldiers died.

After the tweet went viral, Richa had offered an apology by saying, “A whole family is affected when their son is martyred or even injured while saving the nation which is made up of people like us and I personally know how it feels. It is an emotive issue for me.”

The news coverage about the row and the backlash on social media has turned personal against the actress. While some have been asking to ban her movies, others have said the brands she represents should also be boycotted. Now the new channel using her bikini pictures makes it worse of an attack on the actress.
