If that was not enough, Suriya and Deepika Padukone made India proud with their contributions at the Oscars this year. The Tamil actor was named as a member of the Oscar committee for the 95th Academy Awards, and the Soorarai Pottru star was also given the right to vote this year. Also, Deepika Padukone became an Oscar presenter, becoming the 3rd Indian after model Persis Khambatta, who played Lieutenant Ilia in Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1980, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in 2016.
