Popular photographer Daboo Ratnani created a stir on social media after netizens pointe out the uncanny similarity between the viral picture of Kiara Advani for his calendar and a picture of model Steph Taylor clicked by photographer Marie Bärsh in 2019.
For the uninitiated, Kiara Advani posed topless for Daboo Ratnani’s calendar shot for this year. In the picture, Kiara can be seen gazing sensuously towards the camera from behind a leaf of a coconut tree, that was placed strategically.

The image went viral in no time with netizens coming up with hilarious memes and jokes on it. However, amidst all this, netizens found a similar image of model Steph Taylor clicked by photographer Marie Bärsh from last year’s photo shoot. And since then Daboo Ratnani is at the end receiving end of the criticism and trolling as the netizens are calling him out for ‘plagiarism’, insisting that the photographer has copied the concept of Marie Bärsh.

However, the photographer has now come out and gave it back to the trollers and has rubbished all the allegations of ‘plagiarism’ by giving a fitting answer to the trollers.
Well, Daboo Ratnani took to his Instagram and shared a stunning and timeless picture of Bollywood actress Tabu from his 2002’s calenders shot where she can be seen standing behind the leaves.
In his Instagram post, Daboo Ratnani has insisted that the viral picture of Kiara Advani was inspired by his own concept from 2002’s shot. Daboo also thanked his friends for showing support to him. Sharing the picture of Tabu, Daboo Ratnani wrote:
“Beautiful @tabutiful for #dabbooratnanicalendar 2002. #lovenature This timeless & mesmerising shot of Tabu was taken in the year 2001 and it featured in my calendar in the year 2002. There’s been a lil noise about @kiaraaliaadvani ‘s breathtaking 2020 calendar shot with leaf! Guess if I can reuse my camera, I can definitely repeat my own concept!”
He added:
“If at all that doesn’t go well with trolls, then I admit to plagiarising MY OWN SELF #loveandpeace @dabbooratnani @manishadratnani Huge Thanks to my friends who trust me ! That’s all that matters,”
