India’s most sought-after IT hub has bagged the top spot in JLL’s annual City Momentum Index (CMI) and has beaten the likes of London, Silicon Valley, and Shanghai to emerge as the ‘world’s most dynamic city’ on factors like economic development and the ability to sustain that change.
At Bengaluru’s heels is also Hyderabad at rank 5 making India a proud leader of the world’s Top 10. Chennai and Pune feature in the Top 20, while Delhi and Mumbai follow behind in the Top 30.
The index judges the cities on 42 factors across three key areas. The JLL report mentioned Bengaluru, saying, “Silicon Valley of India effectively combined a mix of research institutes and higher education establishments to create a solid and sizeable IT cluster. With 40% of India’s IT industry located in the city, the presence of international IT giants, together with the largest number of high-tech start-ups of any Indian city, is providing added impetus to Bangalore’s entrepreneurial growth.”
